No refresh makes sense. I am 50yrs old & I cannot afford to keep up with this up-to-date every 18 month Console refresh.
What I use to Love about the 80's & 90's Consoles was we'd get 1 new Console every 5-7yrs, Plenty of time for us poor people to save & indulge in a bit of luxury.
I purchased an Xbox One S Ltd Edition 3TB Disk Tray back in 2020 but I got duped into purchasing the Console as an upgrade to my Xbox 360E 500GB without being told to wait for the Next Gen Xbox Series.
I am addicted to 'Elite Dangerous: Horizons', it is the only game space Sim I play as it has been in my life for 37yrs now albeit through 4 different guises since Xmas 1984. My Xbox One S is starting to struggle keeping up with the games' upgrades now. The last upgrade made a performance difference to my Xbox 1 S. Because of the promise of the games' upgrade in November, 3.8, I have played it safe & Purchased an Xbox Series X. "WOW", What a difference but hold on, I've only had my Xbox Series X for 3 days & there's now talk of an Xbox Series C? WTF?
Microsoft, I am Done! Phuck to any more phucking Consoles until I am 57yrs old! Stop trying to grab more money fir a new chip that gives us 10 speed difference or so much clarity, we don't know what is real anymore!
Please stop focusing on the middle class & upwards. Remember the poor people as well. Go back to 1 Console does it all every 7 years & think of the waste as well!

4:21 I'm probably the exception to the rule here, but I did buy the Series X because of backward compatibility with my 360 games as well as future game releases. I have since signed up for Gamepass Ultimate and plan on keeping it.
And I also want to say that I don't only play Gamepass games. I play a mixture of 360 disc games, digital games, as well as Gamepass games. Playing Farcry 5 (digital) right now
So for me, it's basically not that much money and it's a service that I always want access to. (and the disc drive sold it to me lol)

I have an xbox series s, it doesn't have a disk port, but all the games are working on cloud services. After almost a year i have used only half of my ssd. The xbox consoles are great, they get too much hate from people who haven't even tryed playing with xbox. The xbox consoles are easily available, you can find them everywhere, unlike ps5. Also the xbox consoles are easily upgradeable, with like ram or ssd cartridges, but in the ps5 you need to take apart the whole console to just put a beter graphics card, if you have an xbox, you can connect a better graphics card using an usb. Also xboxes are alot cheaper than ps5s.

Game pass is the bomb ngl. I still buy physical but I love basically renting games whenever I want

I think this is the future the game pass if Microsoft can deliver so many aaa games in his eco system for 15$ /month and smart delivery that means if you have s or x or probably x pro 8k in the future just logged in your account and download the game in console special variant your series s 2k x 4k or 8k for x pro same price 15$ subscription play online and mobile phone or home or a smart tv ect..
Just log in download or cloud stream, play anywhere!
