Actually I saw Axelsen when he was 16 and I said this is going to be World champion when adult. he has had all predispositions to become the champion. His style is a bit similar to Morten Frost in combination with certain Asian elements. He has prefect defense covering all sides in every moment, precise hit, and perfect movement on the court. Efficient, economical and effective.

Please someone explain the format, if only 1 player per group gets in to the last 16 then potentially the 2nd place player from the group the gold medalist came from could have been good enough for a medal. ??
