To be fair, if Chris Pratt or Vin Diesel were at a panel, people will still go see them no matter what the panel topic!

Traditionally, Godzilla has served as a commentary on recent events, the first movie being a commentary on nuclear power. The new film is very much a commentary on the effects humans have on the environment without screaming in your ear about how you're killing the planet, which we are all doing to varying degrees. It has nothing to do with religion, but I see how it could be misinterpreted that way. If you actually watch the movie and pay attention it becomes very clear that it is the Earth's wrath, its natural defenses, that cleanse the planet of the human stain.

Godzilla has already defeated both God and the Devil in one particular comic... He's pretty much above both of them at this point.
