In this edition, I give an update on the warranty work my Omega Planet Ocean has received. I'll take you through the process of talking to Omega Service and how I have been treated throughout the process. Sadly all does not end well.

I also touch on a question related to the JLC Master Control Calendar and talk about the Rolex Explorer 1 and the latest London Watch Collector video.

I've had my Speedmaster Pro for 15 years from new so it's due a service. Watching videos like this makes me extremely hesitant. It was a 20th anniversary present from my Wife so is priceless as far as I'm concerned.

I have an Omega Seamster Professional 300M Bond 2018 edition as well as an Aqua Terra GMT. Both will need to be serviced at some stage so your interactions and experience with Omega Customer Service is hugely insightful. There is nothing more frustrating than receiving contradicting information at the first place then getting blamed for not following the protocol! My local watchmaker advised against sending my speed master to omega centre he gave me details of omega trained and certified watchmaker.
Had it serviced by them instead.
My local guy said he had heard far too many bad reports to trust them with his watch.
Glad I took his advice

I'm surprised they didn't try to deny the warranty claim and say you must have forgotten to screw down the crown or something. I've unfortunately read that has happened even when it wasn't the customers fault

Dude... bad crack.. I sent my SMPC off but went through Goldsmiths. It was a warranty thing as to why it was sent back. I had no issues and they took care of the situation. Sorry you’re having issues. Hopefully it’s just one person in the whole machine and not the machine that’s the issue for you, if you know what I mean. Fingers crossed and another good

it is an annual calendar. it’s not a perpetual calendar just as a correction. annual calendar needs to be changed once a year. perpetual calendar does not

Man... what a dreadful journey. You spend that much on a watch and just to get messed about. Sorry to hear about that Andy :-( on a side note, we should do a dual watch review on something sometime in the future. Good video Mr. English Watch. This issue sounds actually a little bit problematic. Hopefully Omega was paying more attention to the repair of the watch itself.
The JLC Master serious is quite dressy and different to the current collection. I would actually be careful spending this amount on complete different style of watches. It would be a good idea to get used to this style of watches with a vintage Omega 168004 or modern Bucherer Manero Auto Date.The step to a 6000 GBP JLC Master Control seems huge to me without any comparable dress watch experience.

Annual calendar is just a normal calendar watch. Perpetual calendar watch is the one with the extra complication to jump days. They are advertised as such 😀. JLC reviewed is just an annual calendar.

So sorry about the Omega that is really annoying. Their communication skill seems appalling considering its a £4K+ watch. I have one that's around 4 years old and you have put me right off sending it in for service at that service centre. Mines losing around 4 secs a day so needs adjusting. I hope you get it back. I'll look for any update. Thanks for sharing your frustration.
