You know, if I bought a $200 pc like this, and could actually get $50 for a 5 star review, I would. I hate to be that person but it is a way for people to save a bit of money sometimes.

On these older mobos, first boot will cause several reset/restart cycles. That's why the fan on the cpu cooler seemed to be sus at first. I built several flips in 2023 using similar NOS mobos along side the 8gb RX580 2048sp GPU and found this to be normal first boot behavior. Generally speaking, the RX580 GPU is pretty good given its low cost in past. Altho driver support is now the issue. Agree that 8GB single-channel RAM is awful. However, what you discovered about possible bad RAM channel is a deal killer.

For these old Intel boards, upgrading RAM is a pain. You have to clear CMOS, usually by shortening jumper for 30 seconds or more. Battery has to go out while you doing it. Sometimes it is necessary to do this multiple times. When it finally posts everything runs fine (for years after that) .

1:39 they just finished reading the specs, if it checks out, add 8gb of memory to it, which a new 16gb kit is like $20-$30, it should be a decent machine for entry level

Crazy, cause I just saw a MXZ pc on Temu, and its original price is $657, but its on sale for $418, tbh its really worth it i think- It has a RTX 2060 and a i5 9400F

Have you tried a bios upgrade? And did you check for bad pins and bad pins on the ram slot? There is also a possibility that when inserting the CPU there is a bad pin or a bent pin on the CPU socket.
