I want my iPhone to sync to the cloud, but not my iPad because it has a small HD. But if I unsync my iPad from the cloud, I can't use my apps? Why has this all become so difficult...

How would you handle more than two devices? For example an old phone, new phone & iPad. I want to keep the old phone linked to handoff for podcasts, but I do not want all my apps on the old phone. How would I delete apps on that old phone without compromising the new phone that I want everything on?

Okay what if I toggle them off from my iCloud like photos/apps for example. Then delete everything off my iPad by removing the iPad account from iCloud. After it deletes everything from my iPad I go ahead and re use the same Apple ID would I still be able to use my Apple Music and not have all these apps downloaded including my photos since I have so much and it's taking up so much of my storage. I'm just trying to use my iPad for school and digital art not have everything that's on my phone sync to my iPad... what a headache, Im also not trying to lose my photos nor some of my apps... this is annoying.
