Hi Stevie, Well done mate, you have made an excellent job of that. Testament to how good it is if you can achieve results like that with your tool post loose. In addition to the comments in Kev's thread, all I would add is to slow your feed rate down a bit, one pass, one direction remaining engaged, and flooded with as much of the material appropriate coolant as possible. Fantastic build, enjoyed it. Cheers, Jon

Nice job Stevie, I'd bought one of these kits before I watched your series, just started it, hope mine works out as good as yours.

You've done a great job there, I'm sure it will work really well once you get used to it.👍

hi Steve
great to see it finished and in action. a really nice and well executed project. Well Done.
I'm not trying to tell you how to suck eggs but i think if you re visit a piece of knurl for a second time if the wheels don't exactly pick up the knurl and they probably 9 times out 10 won't that might be why it chewed a little, try it in one pass, stop the lathe with the knurls still on full pressure to check if your deep enough if not put more pressure on while they are still in position. Also flood with coolant on steel and brass and paraffin based lube (wd 40)on aluminium, i'm not saying that's how to do it, it's just my way that i was taught, many moon's ago.
Thanks for sharing
Kev
