All that Kamal Nath can do is to prolong the inevitable end. This modus operandi can be replicated in Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Time we had a relook at the anti-defection law. It doesn't augur well for Indian democracy when elected members of our legislative bodies can be so easily weaned away from their ideologies and loyalties. In fact the resort politics doesn't take place in any other democracy in the world. Unless and until the Indian electorate wakes up and boots out these shameless mercenaries irrespective of their political allegiance, there seems to be no way of the quagmire in which our democracy finds itself in.
