How To Disconnect A Battery Tender - depends on if your car is negative or positive ground. Older classics maybe positive ground and modern day vehicles are negative. This will impact the order in which you disconnect the leads from the battery post.

I have a 2014 motorbike with a positive ground. I never even knew this was a thing. I thought it was wired wrong

I'm wondering if you can help answer a few questions since I'm completely clueless when it comes to cars? Do you have to disconnect anything attached to the battery in order to use a battery maintainer? And what does one have to keep in mind to prevent an explosion, other than touching the positive and negative posts at the same time with a wrench?
