This video would show you method how to extend battery life during long term vehicle storage.

on regular running of the vehicle, the battery is charged during the run. however, if the vehicle is kept unused for few days, gradually the battery would start losing its charge - vehicle's onboard electronics are slowly consuming charge and also there is natural tendency of battery to lose charge. Even after that time the vehicle may start, however it depends on few parameters - battery health, charge state, other vehicle aspects. But if battery is left to discharging for extended periods, then battery itself could go bad - and vehicle cannot start.

Solution to extend battery life : if you are not going to use the vehicle for long period, then its recommended to disconnect the negative terminal of battery. This way there would no charge consumption by the vehicle's electronics, and only left on natural discharge of idle battery - this rate is typically slow. This method is good for vehicle's long term storage for battery maintenance. There are other aspects too for vehicle's long term storage, but those I may discuss in some future video.
However, beware by disconnecting the battery (negative -ve terminal only), all electronics of vehicle are isolated and stopped. check your vehicle manual (or ask vendor) if such phase without creating any harm to vehicle.
