Yes Tamiya listen to Bob... please build another American truck, preferably a 1977 Mack R series.

This is gonna be an amazing build. The truck is a looker. Agree with you, Tamiya make another american truck. Mack truck would be cool.

Beautiful truck but no Mack and I still use slide trim for all my Tamiya trucks.

A pretty embarrassing release from Tamiya. There's way better options on the market from other manufacturers with better features, performance and looks. Not even a servo for the lifting axle? Come on. Even Hercules Hobby does locking differentials in the plastic kits.

Looks like the trailer hitch replacing the one on the Tamiya pole trailer

I have the kit and i have build it so far as it can without glueing
8x4/4 means 8 wheels and 4 are drivewheels and 4 are steering even if the lift axle is up it still steer along with the steering front axle

Any chance the merc 1850l in the background is for sale ?

8 is the points of wheel to ground. 4 is points of actual powered drive, /4 is the points of steerable wheels hope that helps.

So the 8x4/4 is an 8 wheeled with 4 drives and 4 stears.

and they still use the useless no torque garbage gearbox😪

8 = 8 wheels, as duals aren't counted as seperate wheels, the first 4 = number of driven wheels, the /4 = number of wheels for steering. but the /4 usually isn't mentioned on a normal truck, due to the fact that it is standard to have 2 wheels that steer, but the / means an option for that many wheels with the axle dropped.

Hiya Bob. Just to say great talks and videos you do
I'm working on a Scania 6x4 as a retired HGV 1driver across the pond.

Thanks for showing Bob. This is one of my favorite new model this year. But wasn't it announced as 8x6? (BTW 8 wheels 4 driven / 4 steered - for normal thesteered aren't mentioned). Maybe it was too expensive to put a third driven axle into the kit🤔.

Looking forward for your build
