This breakdown confirms what I saw all season. BA needs more balls thrown his way.

I'm tired of the terrible pass protection in crucial situations year after year. Whether it's the personnel or scheme, it needs to change

Also Burford was absolutely supposed to pick up Jones on that last play. He failed to execute. He blocked the wrong guy. If he just plays the snap the way it was called thye get a td.

Purdy did miss 2-3 big play throws facing some consistent pressure, but he did leave the field with leads at the end of regulation and in OT. And never wilted under the pressure. He acquitted himself very well.

I'm interested in seeing a what he can do with a full off-season under his belt where he doesn't have to rehab. He can focus on strengthening his body and absorbing more of the playbook.

That being said....Shanahan let this team down massively. Too many bizarre inconsistencies and Kyle trying to be too cute with dumb-ass playaction plays when the entire universe knows you're going to pass late and in OT. The pull of the C in that last third down play was evidence of him overthinking again instead of just designing a play to protect the QB and give him 2-3 seconds to hit THREE OPEN RECEIVERS on the play.

Shanahan needs to give Purdy more freedom to check out of plays or protections and take in input from his QB. Purdy is nimble and can run, shift the pocket and put him in motion to negate the pass-rush and let him play on his already quite impressive instinct.

And Jesus, John Lynch, time to invest some resources into O-line. Trent Williams isn't going to play forever. Need a new RT and RG desperately. They were 21st in pass-blocking all year, and I'd imagine even worse in the playoffs.

What I like about how JT critiques Purdy is, whereas most I feel aren't super reasonable with how high of a standard they hold him to, JT is coming from an informed and respectful mindset. Like, when he wants brock to go for the pylon, it's cause he trusts Brock's usual decision making enough to feel like he KNOWS that Brock sees that it's on the table. Which is better than just saying "ehh, he doesn't throw it cause he's got a weak arm!"
To me, I think the fact that there's still this room for improvement bodes well for Brock. Cause we've seen him learn in real time. So i think he's gonna swallow his pride and study this tape like a monk

Came here to get the unfiltered truth about Purdy, came away thinking the 49ers should sell high on Samuel this offseason. Biggest game of his career and it was like a walkthrough effort-wise.

Purdy will be back. Happy for him and looking forward to how he will overcome this tremendous loss. In Purdy we trust.

I'm sad the season is over, but one of the things I'll miss most is JT's breakdowns. Feel like I've learned so much watching these this year. A wholehearted Thank You. Looking forward to next season.

The analysis on the final play compared to some of the Mahomes analysis really shows the contrast in the two lines. Particularly one of the OT plays by the Chief's Smith who blocked Bosa and managed to get a hand on the DB blitzing wide as well while these guys seemed to struggle with some basic assignments.

Just shows the adjustments each team made at the half were a massive impact on the game when the Chiefs had answers to protect Mahomes and the 49ers couldn't do the same.

Purdys footwork fundamentals are gonna have to be on point to get the most out of his arm. He shown he is capable but ive felt like the last 4 weeks its been more like 50-60% perfect reps and it can make all the difference. Those spray misses on open opportunities can grind the offense to a halt.
Not worried tho because hes def comes off as a work ethic guy and im sure he will refine his fundamentals with time.
To make sure his footwork doesnt get disrupted as often, the oline will have to be bolstered.

First season here and I’ve been blown away by how much I’ve learned here brother. Thank you for the hundreds of hours you spent on your channel this year. Looking forward to next season!

I definitely get you point about Deebo’s lackluster effort. I noticed during THIS game that when he got up after being tackled he’d extended one of his legs straight out. He couldn’t bend it. I think he played that game injured and just touched it out.

Purdy gets a real off-season this year rather than just rehabing an injury. People are quick to forget

I get JTs frustration and I agree Purdy should launch it more. This issue is after watching A TON of Jonnydels breakdowns, the post is just not on the progression. I have zero clue why. My guess is its more Shanahan than Purdy. Shanahan runs an offense to minimize the impact of his QB than maximize it. Again just my two cents from watching a ton of film. Shanahan favors the high percentage throws and spots. He does take shots in this game but overall that's what he prefers.

Looking forward to saving this so I can watch it in a few weeks after I'm done mourning

On the 3rd and 4 about Kittle, it seems Kittle has not fully recovered from injury, according to Shanahan interview. Maybe that is one of the reasons they put him there rather than 23. maybe also why Kittle had so few receiving chances.

I find it so weird that after a game where two teams are so clearly evenly matched, people have a takeaway that Purdy sucks and PM is a god. I mean that wasn’t the game I saw

Where you at brother? Been MIA. We need some film breakdown on the QBs in the draft
