Awesome! Always nice to watch you expertly repair these phones! I also have to say I think its amazing you can work on something so small! How on earth you do what you do when everything is so tiny and fragile is just incredible! I work on older SMD stuff and mostly through hole components, recently took a look at a cheap (£5) iPhone 4 that I picked up to learn from, and despite me thinking it would be simple to remove the 9 pin charge IC with hot air, after 30 seconds of heating and removing the IC, 3 pads came off with the IC - that's the end of that one =/

Technically they lied to a NASA engineer and his mom - though if they ever had to tender for services or equipment to NASA, they'd probably lie about their reliability & repairability too.

I don't understand why you don't have far more subscribers, seen how many Louis has, and how i think your streams are just as good and you also prove very often how simple fixes are and also how badly Apple is lying to people and how they choose to be incompetent.

That was Sunny calling from Rossman's line to complain how bad Louis screwed him over.

You can put a locked device in recoverymode and read the serialnumber with 3uTools. After that you can just get back out of recoverymode.

Siri didn’t work, Apple said $400.00 for new screen + $100.00 for new battery and suggested a new phone. I took it to a little Chinese man who fixed the lot for $100.00. It wasn’t the screen but a mic at the top which is Siri’s mic.

truly amazing that a company like apple would offer little to zero help to a customer, is very sad.

Jessa, I'm a vBulletin forum admin and had to deal with this. A firewall wouldn't have helped you here. If you still need this cleaned up, DM me on Twitter @fdinolfo .

You signed off before determining whether her serial number was covered by the service bulletin. Any news?

Moral of the story, DON'T touch an apple product with a barge pole. You WILL get screwed over!!!!.
On a serious note, its modern economices, they don't want you to repair your product, they want you to replace it, thats how they make money. its pure business.
I had a samsung galaxy with a damaged digitizer / screen, it was un economical to repair, instead i just upgraded and got a brand new phone free of charge beyond a new 2 year contract.

Mom's not good with technology but uses a super strong password.
Edit: not super strong, but I hope she didn't reuse it everywhere. A lot of password changing to do.
