Exploits are BANNABLE now? My opinion.

Some people are talking about game bans for TF2 Exploits. Here is my opinion.

Yeah, I think a lot of them are just passing it off as, "I was banned for an exploit" kind of like that one guy who was like "oh my game bugged out, does anyone else get a bug where you can see everyone else?"

if they ban the common civilian pose exploit because its funny then valve has lost it

I think friendly expolits like T-Pose and Spy-Crab are safe
because Valve made an cosmetic about the Spy-Crab exploit

Damn I really came here on the dot. I mean yeah exploits should be banned but I feel like that would apply to people who use them for scary purposes like crashing the server or something. I doubt valve would ban anyone for glitching under the map since it's kinda their responsibility to find that stuff anyway. Banning delfy would be like firing an employee for finding a flaw in your security system lmao.

To clarify: I meant banning malicious users for using the exploits to ruin other people's experiences. Such as the server crashing objector. I did NOT mean ban the people who found the exploit.

The game ban message doesn't specify anything about _why_ they were banned. Might just be another one of those cheaters somehow thinking they're not in the wrong for cheating and trying to pin their ban on something unreasonable. I very strongly doubt Valve would go as far to game ban people for using exploits.

Speaking of wall hack exploits, you can still see enemy spies disguised as teammates through spawn wall hacks which has been in the game for years now and it’s completely involuntary

Valves reputation has gone to shit but they still wouldn't ban people for their own mistakes. They certainly wouldn't start 15 years after TF2's release.

The guy was very obviously a closet cheater coping big time and trying to deflect the blame.

It's probably more a case of

1. User uses cheats 2-4 weeks ago
2. User turns off cheats but still does OOB exploits
3. User gets banned
4. "It was the OOB exploits I got banned for!"

tbh i don't think they should, it would be easier to fix out exploits rather than hunting down every player that takes advantage of em

The guy on reddit was most likely a closet cheater so I don't think they are banning for exploits as of now

dont mind it when people do exploits on com server, or harmless one, but its rlly annoying when you play pub and theres that one dude that wanted to win no matter what and keep going back to that one spot

I kinda agree.
Major Server Crashes, Exploits that border on Cheats, Market Item Duplications, doing major out of bounds stuff in Competitive, etc. are what probably is classified as a bannable exploit.

A scout A-posing across the bridge in cp_twofort so he can spin in sync with the enemy intel and do fuck-all probably won't get banned.
An engineer discovering an out of bounds glitch to trap his team or spawn-camp the enemy is a solid maybe.
A guy triggering a total server crash or an instant-win bug (Like the old Bread in Payload Final Points) definitely.
