Content Note on Regen: It's not necessarily impossible to do one-pedal in the cold because Tesla now lets you do brake blending with a toggle under Pedals & Steering that's visible in the video. Enable this if you want the disc brakes to smoothly take over when regen is reduced.

A Reminder on Navigation: I mention this in the video but please, please use Tesla's maps (always on the right side of the screen, hide the app covering it if you don't see it) to navigate to superchargers. The preconditioning feature in cold-weather will save you lots of time.

Technical Note: Apologies for blurry focus in some interior parts of this video, we're still fine-tuning our apparatus for shooting with higher-end camera equipment for special videos like this one. Also, we're hoping the YouTube HDR processing kicks in sometime in the next day or so (it's quite slow).

I'm renting a 2022 Tesla model 3 this weekend. This video is very helpful.

Excellent video and explanation. If I could wave my magic wand, I would have disabled the automatic focus on the camera, and instead used a manual focused to keep all the screen readable. So much of the screen was blurred. But your explanation essentially made it clear anyhow. If you had a chance to rerecord the video, that would be outstanding. Keep up the good work!

A few clarifications:

2020 and newer Tesla Model Y and Model 3 have the CCS compatibility enabled. To check if your car has this option enabled, in the car screen go to the main menu, software, and press on the blue more vehicle info link.

When your Tesla is almost done Supercharging, you will get a notification on your phone letting you know that the car is almost done charging. If you don’t unplug your car then there is an idling fee which starts after a 5 minutes grace period. If the Supercharger Station is under 50% capacity you will be charged $0.50 per minute. If the station is at over 50% capacity you will be charged $1.00 per minute.

Another way of opening the charge port is by pressing the button on top of the handle the same way it was shown on the video when unplugging. No need to push the charge port door.

Thank you, very informative video! To me, the lack of an instrument panel/gauge cluster in front of the driver is a big drawback. I am not sure I want to be glancing over at the screen for speed, time, state of charge, etc. And good on you for reminding would be Tesla drivers to stay alert and be prepared to take over even when Autopilot is engaged.

It’s not easy to squeeze in a lot of important information in a short & engaging conversation way. I did wish you covered shuffle play that bugged me for like week 1 last week when I got the car lmao 🤣

You promised it a few weeks ago, thanks! One item, camera needs to be closer to the console as you are filming, its not that easy to read as you are navigating around

Fan of tesla and Elon !!! Haven't made the jump to ev yet, because of build quality and charging issues. But I have an app to start, climate control and other settings. This really helpful in the northeast !!! Hoping tesla will make a more affordable x version. If not will have to buy from another company.

It looks like when you finish a sentence and the segment ends you look away. Maintain eye contact with the camera for a short period of time or edit you looking away. Distracting!! haha
