As a Mariner fan, what a huge loss to the baseball community. Great family man, great player, even better person. RIP Senior Valenzuela.

Unassuming. In other words loved the game and didn’t feel he needed the fanfare ❤️What a special man he is .

Great player, even better person. Humble, caring & unselfish. Not only promoted the game of baseball to another level but more importantly, brought communities closer together in a tough world. RIP Fernando.👃👃👃

Dodger fan since 1983. I saw him pitch a few times. Very sad. Dodgers have a destiny now, to win it all for Fernando. We shall see his number patches on their sleeves.

Fernando was more then a super star pitcher, he help heel the wounds of the past between the Mexican American Community and the Dodgers organization. For years the Mexican American Community had no interest of attending Dodgers games. In fact since 1962 of Opening Day members of Mexican American Community boycotted Dodgers games. But that all changed 22 years after The Battle Chavez Ravine in 1959. When Fernando arrived in Los Angeles he become the Mexican American Community new hero. The Dodgers gave them someone who respected Mexico American Community. It was like a removal of pain that finally ended. Since then the Mexican American Community filled up Dodgers stadium. I hope one day the Dodgers will find another Mexican picture that will continue where Fernando left off.

West, Mays, walton, west.... I'm 67 and to all the young kids out there, cherish and remember what you watch in regards to watching great sports moments. I've seen so many, and in regards to Valenzuela, listening to him on the radio with Vin Scully broadcasting do you think you never think of it ending. But life moves on. Thank you Fernando for all the memories that you gave us especially the fantastic start you had when you pitch all those shutouts and actually went nine innings!!❤😢

Great to see and hear Laura Diaz, past anchor in ABC Channel 7, after Anne Martin, another beloved personality there. In homage to Fernando and the Fernandomania.
