This series is beautifully presented and accurate to the wonderful descriptions of the Longwirth books that take place in Aix. The dynamic between Allam. And Carroll is terrific, the photography is lush and the storyline gets complex. Could not ask for anything more.

we need a season they are relationship goals. sadly, i heard it wasn’t picked up. don’t know why. this is the most adult relationship on tv. mutual respect, individual aspirations, tenderness without sentimental claptrap (as the brits say).

ive always imagined roger allam playing maigret. he's got the right look for it and he'd fit the period too

okay just saw the final episode of season one! won’t give away too much but all i will say is that i literally jumped up and down and cheered 🎉🎉🎉 when i saw the two i have shipped from father brown reunited here! the casting made the killer’s identity obvious to john light fans (and who isn’t a fan of his!?!?!). i need MIP to get a second season, but at the same time i don’t want to sacrifice any Father Brown characters…
my fiancé got me a year’s subscription to britbox for our anniversary (cheaper and way more fun than a dozen overpriced roses!) and i’m enthralled. i’m trying to get the rest of america onboard here.

I’m such fan of provincial murder mystery and especially lady Felicia. I can endure all manners of bad scripts, bad acting etc etc but this show really had me ponder some rather unique questions as in what are all these expats doing in Provence? Where are the French people of this town? Or wait, these English ARE supposed to be French people just with heavy English accents, no? maybe it’s a town in France solely populated by the Brits? But why then the French names? Mmm.. It’s a mystery alright.

Cast looked amazing and I was really looking forward to it, watched the first one tonight... Scenery was lovely, some of the acting was awful, and the the plot was to busy, I love a good who done it, but this was just to full. By the end I just didn't care anymore, hardly remembered who the hell was murdered. I really hope they get better as I love both the lead actors.

LOVE this show. only thing is that i will DIE if Lady Felicia Montague doesn’t return to Father Brown. she and Mrs. McCarthy crack me up, no matter what mood i’m in. and Nancy’s screams are worth all the tea in…well, in Kimbleford. i’m american and it amuses me to no end when, in british shows, the worst crimes and sins are washed away with a “spot of tea.” we are that way with coffee in the states. well, and booze lol, but i don’t drink. anyways, awesome show but i hope she can be in this and Father Brown. binging britbox was the only thing that gave me life while suffering from major depression; i don’t know what i would have done without it.

Hey BritBox can we get some Last of the Summer wine? Talk to the BBC about it.

What is the high rating about? It is not such a great series. Are the ratings fake?

Not a single clue who these actors are and that's refreshing. It's a nice show, a little pompous and not a French accent in sight which seems very odd. Just a few posh actors but overall it's nice, easy watching and enjoyable to watch.

So, an all-British cast playing French characters, in France? Really? It's about as absurd as Rowan Atkinson playing Maigret a few years back or watching Kenneth Branagh in the role of Swedish detective Wallander. I think I'll continue watching Roger Allam in old Endeavor episodes on Youtube. He was so good in that role. And credible...

Ok so I watched S1E1 last night an I was immediately confused. Are these English people in France or are they actually suposed to be French and they are just pretending, uh acting? So after about the 6th person speaking English including a chief of police named Francois or something I realized ok these are French people. Plus the fact that the main character is a Judge or a cop, anyway he's being paid by someone to investigate murders in France. And we will put up with alot because we all love Death In Pardise and the newest season isn't on yet so let's try this one.
Well I found it a bit gloomy, not like DIP which is sunny and has that wonderfull seaside beach house. One thing this new one has that the beach house doesn't have is two beds in the main characters house where most of the scenes are shot.
Not really a fan and I don't really think a French man would tell his wife to Sod off.
