Private First Class Elva Karzova of the Latvian Army talks you through the stages of applying camouflage face paint in a 1-minute video tutorial.

Effective use of military camouflage paint means breaking up the visual patterns of the human face – applying dark paint where light hits the face (cheekbones, chin), and light paint where the face is shadowed (eyes). Elva shows you how, with a few fingers of paint, she can blend into her surroundings.

I've been an infantryman for a fair minute now, not too long but wnough to know more than nothing. And as a black guy, I still cant figure out why I need face paint. Their is nothing about my face that is light.

All seriousness, great video for the newbs who want to join or are in and got told to learn how to put on face paint since they still suck at it after basic. 😄

I don’t know if they’re necessarily the lightest places on your face but they are the most curved and acceptable to light reflection... coming from someone(combat 11B) who sleeps with it on but I’m not a camo expert I always hated the army issue face paint much rarer use Charcoal or mudd but to each there own
