Full video is finished:

5 years later here I am taking someone's weapon without it touching the ground at any point - something you've probably never seen before, that's just how complex Crysis was. In the same vein I'm working on a proper 5+ minute video I'm going to call "Crysis Creativity".

Crytek/EA decided to abandon the PC audience in favor of mediocre sales on consoles (no better than the first game and on consoles you pay a fee to Microsoft and Sony for every sold copy), a less mature, more isolated market where advertising, not quality, is the deciding factor in a game's fate.

I and many others think this was a mistake. A proper sequel on PC could have performed better than Crysis 2 did on all 3 platforms combined. It would have continued the momentum Crysis had built up in terms of a community (pretty much dead since the second game).

Given a fair look at the game, maybe a demo, the 3 million that bought the first game on PC would have purchased a copy right away. Add new customers to that and you've got yourself a major success already! Crysis would have established itself as THE PC FPS of our time, seeing how Dice and Infinity Ward had already switched to consoles for good (BF3 is a clunky console game, you know it to be true).

Crysis was about speed and brains, these videos serve as a demonstration. If you've read all the way up to this part you have a remarkable attention span in this day and age, take pride in that.

The 180 turn was not the point, haha.

It was about catching a falling weapon, and a big part of it was to get the weapon to fly around like that in the first place - by throwing the guy against the tree at just the right angle. Throwing the guy perfectly, then timing the catch (easier to miss than one would think).
