Maxwell Street Klezmer Band: Tumbalalaika

Tumbalalaika is a Yiddish folk song which in which a young man poses a riddle to a young woman whom he is courting (What can grow without rain, what can burn without burning out, what can cry without tears?) This is from a concert that the band played in 2020 during the Covid-19 Pandemic under the auspices of Sheridan Studios, Susan Merdinger. Tumbalalaika was recorded by the band on its 1996 CD, "You Should Be So Lucky!" (Shanachie Entertainment, 1996).
