My friend committed suicide and he left his YouTube logged in at work. I went through his history and found this song was one of his favorites.
Miss you Tommy

Rza was really on another level with his production flipping these old school beats. Straight legendary

It's chilling hearing the original sample after listening to a song for so long. Hearing this before, I probably would've never thought it could be flipped like how Rza did it but hearing tearz first, that original sample sounds like it was way ahead for the time it came out. Much respect for timeless classics like these.

This is my second cousin on my mother's side of the family. Wendy Renee or cousin Mary as I knew her was a talented and sweet lady. I have fond memories of her growing up in Memphis.

20 years of listening to Tearz I finally decided to listen to the sample...wow, what an incredible song

One of Stax's best kept secrets, this intriguing record never left Memphis (that is, until it appeared in the exhaustive CD compilation, "The Complete Stax-Volt Singles 1959-1968").  Wendy had this teeny-tiny voice, but she let's it rip on this one and pure deep soul heartache comes out.  Kudos also go to Booker T. Jones' perfectly quirky organ hook that adds mystery to this gem.  Way to go, Wendy, I just can't get this one out of my head.

Why does everyone in this comment section think they’re a music elitist or something? Nobody cares about how great your music taste is, David.

As you can see, not only. Historical artifacts are discovered, as you can see, so does musical gems. Just found this beautiful voice a few days ago in a reggae riddim titled "After laughter riddim" I would have never known the song was this old. RIP Star

The power in this truly did bring tears to my eyes. It's odd that you guys are complaining so much about what sample is being recognized when you really should be recognizing the talent you're hearing. She was underrated back then and continues to be brushed aside now.

Wu-Tang brought me here, heartbreak made me put it on repeat.

First heard this in the Lucky Number Slevin film and was totally fascinated by the track.  The emotional depth of music and Wendy Rene's vocals, deliver a heartache rendering sound that is rarely captured in a recording. An outstanding composition!  Coincidently, check out a fantastic modernised recording of the title by Dynasty. Don't compare, that ain't fair, just enjoy!
