So sweet. I hadn't realized that 'The Stretch' was a sign of comfort and trust. I love how they do it right after an enjoyable meal.

Awwww, that means Maddy-cat, the office cat where I worked, liked me!
(Other people in the office called her 'my cat.' Hardly, I made it clear, she was not my cat, I was her lackey!)

Your cat is stretching because you woke it up from its nap.

The cats visiting my garden always greet me in this manner. They trust me and allow me to pet them. They belong to, and are very wel looked after by my neighbours. ❤️🐈🐈‍⬛

This makes me happy and also makes me feel guilty. Tiny Torti, one of the strays I feed, always makes a big stretch when she sees me either looking out the window or opening the door. I thought she was just making room in her tummy for food I always give her. The cute little girl keeps trying to come inside too every time I open the door. If it weren't for my two mean girls, I would have her as an inside kitty right now.

I'm sharing my home with 3 cats and I feed 5 beautiful strays. The strays are always a bit un- or under-socialised. One in particular will not let me get close at all, even though he comes and stays on a cat bed which I've bought for him. I'm always perplexed when he shows this trust by turning his back on me and then taking his time to stretch and yet when I inch forward with my hand held out, he might smell my hand but he always runs out the cat flap. I just can't explain it.

Seems like a mixture of insight and overanalysis.
