"Kioulsapa" or Chiotissa (Χιώτισσα) is the legentary poem of Vasilis Michailides that I set in music, referring to the historical period of 1821 in Cyprus. Here is the intoductionary first two verses. The poem in general refers to a girl from the Greek Chios Island, arrested by Turkish and arrived to Cyprus as a slave where she managed to escape with the help of her brother and an old woman.
