GUILTY: Jury Reaches Verdict in Alex Murdaugh Murder Trial

Following just 2+ hours of deliberation, a jury found Alex Murdaugh guilty Thursday of 2 counts of murder and 2 counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in the 2021 shootings of his wife Maggie and son Paul.

Following the guilty verdict, Murdaugh’s lawyers attempted to make a motion for a mistrial, which the judge promptly denied, saying: ‘The evidence of guilt is overwhelming. I deny the motion.’

Murdaugh’s sentencing is expected to take place on Friday.
