Unprecedented heat sweeps across Queensland

Queensland will experience an early burst of summer for the last day of winter.

The mercury will nudge the mid to high 30s across much of the state today thanks to a hot air mass situated in the state’s interior.

The August heat has seen records tumble – Birdsville reached 39 degrees yesterday, which is 15 degrees above average for this time of year.

To use the word "unprecedented" for heat in Queensland is a gross exaggeration. Not to ever forget that this is mainstream media.

Nope. Our family left from Brisbane for a stay in the UK in August it was in the 30s the day we left - that was 2009. Stop lying, gaslighting, and erasing history

Better increase taxes. That'll fix it.

I was married in 1991 on 8 September and the entire preceding week was over 30degrees in Adelaide. Spring weather in Australia is highly volatile. Stinking hot one day shivering cold the next. It’s not unprecedented, it’s Australian Spring.

' The Bushfire season started in August in 1951 in Queensland In 1946 in August “Mt Archer, in the Kilcoy district, was a 1500 ft torch tonight”. The 1951 fires did £2m of damage, and within three years the people of Queensland responded by creating six times as many fire teams and more firebreaks. One farmer put in 500 miles of firebreaks on his own property.''
Fires in August in 1951 in Queensland were described as “catastrophic” when CO2 was 311ppm

Never happened before? If it has then it is not unprecedented and if you are talking about since satellite records began you are only going back as far as 1979!

It’s okay guys, climate change doesn’t exist for the viewers here

By the way, fighting climate change also fights immigration. Why can’t I find a politician willing to do both?

Taxing the people more certainly will tackle climate change 😂
