Prof hesitated to call Churchill racist. But The fact is that Churchill was on same league as Hitler in terms of racism. Responsible for the great Bengal genocide/famine. May he rot in Hell forever.

Churchill wasn’t only racist, he was an arrogant member of an aristocratic class.

That's great pleasure to hear Mr Nalapad supporting Russia at this hour when he spoke against purchase s400. West has become too selfish for their own good.

India did the right thing to turn down putting boots on ground. India would have gotten into the mess created by usa and Pakistan in Afghanistan. India learnt its lesson by sending ipkf in Sri lanka. No country likes having foreign forces in any sovereign nation. I agree with professor nalapad.

I find myself more and more coming to Indian media to get an objective treatment of the situation instead of the current frantic Western propaganda. Thank you!

Sir, my take is if us would have been smart, then they could have shifted there focus in securing Russia and India as a ally to curtail China which could have brought in more balance. Unfortunately it is not the case. Professor is 200 % spot on

Churchill had a grudge against Asians ever since he was taken prisoner by Pashtuns in 1895. He spent about a month in their custody, unharmed, but could not ride a horse for months after his release.

Great to hear a different perspective. We've been hearing how India should have gone into Afghanistan with their army when U.S. left and it's one more instance of a hesitant government and a colonial hangover to not go on the front foot but this is incorrect as Prof Nalapat shows. Colin Powell expecting us to employ troops under a British commander is eye-opening as the U.S. is not oblivious or ignorant, they have enough Harvard PhDs in history and politics to know the situation, but it is a reminder that the U.S. has european roots and is a colonial power itself. Their agenda is gross. Apparently, even in West Asia they were trying to dominate India's presence there and it seems that if we had sent troops it would have been a trap. Don't forget the U.S. media would have been silent, or more likely deceitful, in describing our presence if something should happen.
Great point of Afghans not welcoming foreign troops and without the cooperation of the public what on earth can you do? Indian troops might have been more appreciated but no idea really.

Should India try and sort it's territorial disputes when other countries are also trying to do the same. Either diplomatically or other.

I congratulate Prof. Nalapat for a vigorous analysis of the Ukraine situation. He forgot to mention how Reagan agree to dissolve NATO with Gorbachov and how it was the then US vice-president George Bush senior who dissuaded him. Please can you post a comment and include the author and the book you mentioned. Thank you 👌👌
