The ProCeed GT Line is available with a choice of three engines. Gasoline options include Kia’s popular 1.0-litre T-GDi (turbocharged gasoline direct injection) engine, producing 120 ps and 172 Nm torque. Equipped with the 1.0-litre T-GDi engine (and paired with a six-speed manual transmission), the ProCeed accelerates from 0-to-100 kph in 11.3 seconds. CO2 emissions are rated from 122 g/km (WLTP ‘combined’ cycle, 17-inch wheels).

The most powerful engine for GT Line models is the brand’s new ‘Kappa’ 1.4-litre T-GDi power unit, which produces 140 ps. The engine’s turbocharger ensures its 242 Nm torque output is available over a wide 1,500-3,200 rpm band, making it responsive in a wide range of driving conditions. The 1.4-litre T-GDi engine enables the ProCeed to accelerate from 0-to-100 kph in 9.1 seconds when paired with the standard six-speed manual transmission, with CO2 emissions from 130 g/km (WLTP ‘combined’ cycle, 17-inch wheels). Models fitted with the optional seven-speed double-clutch transmission can accelerate to 100 kph from a standstill in 9.4 seconds, with emissions rated from 125 g/km (WLTP ‘combined’ cycle, 17-inch wheels).

All three gasoline engines (including the 1.6-litre T-GDi engine for GT models – see below) are fitted with a gasoline particulate filter to reduce tailpipe emissions, ensuring the ProCeed goes beyond the requirements of the Euro 6d TEMP emissions standard.

Buyers can specify an efficient new ‘Smartstream’ 1.6-litre CRDi (common-rail direct injection) diesel engine. Kia's new Smartstream powertrain philosophy seeks to enhance fuel efficiency and performance with reduced emissions. The new Smartstream engine has been developed with an optimised powertrain structure and design, compact and lightweight components, and enhanced combustion technology, maximising fuel efficiency and driving performance. The 1.6-litre diesel engine in the Ceed and ProCeed is the first Smartstream diesel engine from Kia, and the company's cleanest diesel engine to-date.

With a power output of 136 ps, the new 1.6-litre Smartstream engine can be paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed double-clutch transmission. It produces 280 Nm when paired with the manual transmission, with the 0-to-100 kph sprint completed in 10.4 seconds and CO2 emissions from 104 g/km (WLTP ‘combined’ cycle, 17-inch wheels). With the optional seven-speed double-clutch transmission, the ProCeed’s 1.6 Smartstream engine produces 320 Nm, enabling acceleration from 0-to-100 kph in 10.1 seconds, and CO2 emissions of 109 g/km (WLTP ‘combined’ cycle, 17-inch wheels). Designed to go beyond the stricter limits laid down by the latest Euro 6d TEMP emissions standard, the Smartstream engine uses Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) active emissions control technology to significantly reduce emissions.

Marking the return of Kia’s high-performance ‘GT’ model, the ProCeed GT is powered by a 1.6-litre T-GDi engine, identical to that found in the new Ceed GT. Producing 204 ps and 265 Nm, it is the most powerful engine in the line-up. The new ProCeed GT and Ceed GT also see the introduction of Kia’s seven-speed double-clutch transmission for the first time, enabling quick-fire gear shifts via the metal alloy steering wheel paddles.

Equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, the ProCeed GT can accelerate from 0-to-100 kph in 7.6 seconds, on to a top speed of 230 kph (143 mph). Paired with the seven-speed double-clutch transmission, the car accelerates from 0-to-100 kph in 7.5 seconds, with a 225 kph top speed (140 mph). The ProCeed GT emits from 155 g/km CO2 with a manual transmission (WLTP ‘combined’ cycle), and from 142 g/km with the double-clutch transmission.

Nice car. I am seriously considering buying the one here in the UK. My only concern is the quality of the seats material after few years of use.

How noisy is the car in Normal/Comfort mode? Louder engine and exhaustion in Sport mode is of course expected, but is it silent and comfortable outside of it?

Imagine this being 4x4 2.0 Turbo 206kW from Hyundai N their new 8 speed automatic gearbox and more decent exhaust. Something like "Proceed R". For few thousands euro more. That would be real image maker (instead of Stinger which ended in Europe).

Nice review, congrats. Are the driving modes adjusting the suspension? Is the suspension adaptive? Are the materials/plastics in the car the same as on the normal Kia Ceed or Proceed? Thank you.

Hey Dan the car is very good for that level of price for me is worth and 7 years guarantee service is best u can buy car for that level and is bigger vs that Mercedes shooting break if you have money go Mercedes pay double price many says they have Mercedes and change or swap with proceed GT they say Mercedes and pay alot cost service in Germany or others countries but Kia always cheap plus 7 years guarantee service is top and for kia you can buying cheap parts independent Koreans parts or online easy.
