We bought our first car last year and whilst we have found it to be a wonderful luxury and addition to the family there are several operational costs associated with owning a car in the UK.

I break down the full list of car costs that you need to be aware of, before you buy one, so that you can gauge your affordability. There is absolutely no point buying a car and feeling it is a burden to maintain and run.
