I am an antiochian greek currently living in Hatay/Turkey. We're about 1200 people maximum, and that's all we are. My family never abandoned our language and religion and never got asimilated (maybe a little), didn't abandon their land too, where they can be average villagers. Home is precious and is somewhere you feel belonged.

My grandfather was born in 1908 in Smyrna and was deported in 1923, married to my grandmother who was abandoned by her mother due to poverty and adopted by another Ionian Greek mother. Great stories of heritage

When Constantinople fell, it was not only the loss of Greeks, but for Georgians too, since the only European and Orthodox country near Georgia was Byzantine Empire and when it fell, Georgia fell apart pretty soon too.

You forgot about the Istanbul Pogrom of 1955, which forced the last Greek inhabitants of the city to emigrate. That was really the end of any viable Greek population in Turkey.

Everyone is arguing about whether the Greeks or Turks rightfully own Asia Minor
but nobody talks about the Hittites

Next Video:

Why are there so many Africans in America?

Well a bunch of Europeans asked a bunch of Africans to kindly come to America to work on there farms for free and the Africans accepted because they are such nice people.

This is a joke

No emphasis on the genocide of the Asia Minor Greeks? A genocide that Turkey refuses to recognise to this day by the way
