As a Bulgarian, locals tell stories about them being fairy-like goddess that are very beautiful. I've never heard this version before, but you know every story has it's true core. Most of the time they're a lot darker than the version we spread around the world

So I'm Bulgarian and I'm honestly so happy to see some Bulgarian folklore being featured in Something Scary! When I was little my grandma used to tell me all kinds of stories about the Samodivas, the Forest Spirits and (the one that scared me the most) an old man that would kidnap children in the dark called Torbalan. The country is full of all sorts of tales and folklore!

P.S.: seriously, I was so scared of Torbalan that my grandma would always say "if you don't eat your dinner Torbaln will come and get you" and I couldn't sleep because I was petrified just thinking about him 😅
