The normal amount of pictures I draw for a video is between 60 - 100.. And until now the once with over 100 had no shading and a lot simpler backgrounds.

So this one, with a total of 122 pictures, completely shaded and lots of backgrounds is my proudest work so far!
But I would lie, if I say, that this project didn't push me to my current limits. There were many moments, where I felt really overwhelmed and as if finishing it would be impossible. But I've done a few of animatics pff so I kinda knew to just keep pushing and then.. it was suddenly done.

I started this project back in august but I did take a break of a month, so in total, this took me 3 months of working daily on it.

I really wanted to practice my background drawing skill and so I kinda neglected my lines a little (one step at a time pff otherwise this would have taken at least another month) but I'm thinking of practicing them in my next animatic.
But like always there is a good third of pictures I would love to just.. completely redraw but I have to be honest with myself and it's looking fine. I rather start a new project and apply there what I learned through the making of this video :3

(Also- please don't judge the way I drew Dib and Zim too much! Dib was literally my first human (besides my persona) in years and I never was good at drawing hair. You can clearly see what pictures I linearted first because all of them look like, Dib's having a bad hair day)

I honestly have always enjoyed their relationship! In a way, Dib gives Zim a genuine purpose and takes him seriously when no one else would. Like that unaired episode they did, Zim needs Dib to feel complete. Without him, his plans feel mundane and empty.

I feel like fib is actually obsessed with zim and the fact zim knows this makes fib more obsessed and dib gives zim purpose but I feel like zim also gives dib purpose and zim just liked the attention fib gives hi.

Okay, this is amazing. It’s really captures the whole point that Dib is the antagonist of Invader Zim, he even wears evil looking clothing which I never noticed until I saw him like this. It’s brilliant how you made their movements so similar but different. Zim has that “you’re not a threat to me” vibe to him when encountering Dib, and Dib has a kind of sick way of moving that captures his internal struggle to be like his dad. He moves like he’s trying to look smart and intimidating which the latter works when shown here, the word to replace smart is calculated like when Dib grabs the mechanical leg of Zim’s back thing. It shows that he’s planned it all out up until the very end where the snot gets beat out of him. Brilliant work amd you’ve gained a sub for sheer admiration

1:08 I really like this shot of Zim because it shows how creepy Zim would be irl. His glowing eyes, claws, ramrod straight posture. A lot of people tend to forget that he's a full fledged soldier, and likely was a high-ish ranking one seeing how he got to pilot a mech
