Valve/Tube HF Linear Amplifier Build - Part 1 : HT Supply

preview_player
Показать описание
This is Part 1 of the build process of a kilo-watt valve/tube HF Linear Amplifier.

IMPORTANT: Without proper safety procedures and protection, the High Voltages involved will cause Death or Serious Injury.

HT transformers are hard to find and expensive, so a modified microwave oven transformer will do.
(No, this not about spot-welding .....)

Cost is always an issue, so do not expect to see a 4CX1000A !
The aim is to use a GU-81M tube which is much cheaper and looks way sexier.

Nice to see an upload from you, unless I missed it, it has been a while. I might give the next one a miss. I have no idea what you were doing in this one. LOL

Those microwave transformers will take you out of this world a lot quicker than you came in.

Interesting approach to transfer of knowledge ... but
It might be much more understandable and comprehensable if you use
* litle bit more structure,
+ schematics
+ whitedboard
... and less casual self-talk.

Waiting for par 2.

Great video. Im building an amp based around 2x gu43b tubes. I have a 20kva (150kg) plate transformer with a few voltage options, 2850vdc or 3200v dc. Might start of low and work up. Im using F1FRV triode boards. Cheers GI0UTE.
