Adam Scott's swing is a perfect example of how steep the backswing should be. He basically picks the club straight up. It's also a lot easier on your back and hips

Believe it or not, I think he has a wee bit of early extension. But I think Nicklaus did to, so…. The thing I love is you don’t see him trying to twist those hips open so early like a lot of the tour players do. A work of art.

I'm not sure if more than about 1 in ten amateurs can turn their hips at impact like that....I try and I'm way short of this. There is a lot of athletic ability that's hidden in this man's swing. Just a gorgeous motion IMO.
