In 1961 UNC Charlotte was Charlotte College, with two building and a barn on a 494 acre campus serving 865 students.Today the University of North Carolina at Charlotte is a bustling urban campus located just minutes from the nation's second largest financial district.
The University serves the greater Charlotte metropolitan region and has grown rapidly over the past two decades. Well over 26,000 students take classes and conduct research on a 900 acre plus campus with 161 historic and state of the art facilities.
