I wasn't looking at my phone when Seamus started his Shapiro impression and thought it was actually Ben.

I'm glad Ben Shapiro and those like him are finally getting the scrutiny from the right they should've gotten years ago.

Increasingly, I am coming to believe that Pints is the best podcast out there. So much depth in this short exchange! Thank you, gentlemen.

Seamus is wise beyond his years. He gives this Gen-X grandpa hope for the future. Thank you for hosting him again, Matt.

Again, the jews didn't get the memo when Jesus clarified that mentally lusting over someone is not quite as bad as physically doing it but a serious sin nonetheless, by accepting their Messiah they will come to the fullness of the truth. It's hard to let go of sin when there's no real way of atonement for sins in Judaism because it's fulfillment is in Catholicism.

I really hope this podcast becomes the conservative podcast for the English-speaking West. It is breaking the bubble for American conservatives constantly listening to the Daily Wire. I promise you will start seeing the economics differently very soon as well.

I'm surprised Shapiro isn't more in line with Fradd's distinction between lust and sexual value. It seems to be ironic that the author of Porn Generation, which quite effectively exposed the moral decline in our entertainment culture in film and music - a decade before things even further deteriorated with popular hookup culture apps - wouldn't be more in line with Fradd's viewpoint.

I remember Ben stating once on DailyWire that a spouse in marriage can be an intimate partner or betrayer.
I thought that was spot on.

Contraception degrades the marital act into lust, unfortunately.

You could cite 100 Rabbis, even Moses Meimonides, but Prager would go to the, "My Daddy did this so it's ok, " argument.

Natural law prohibits against having sex for pleasure alone?
Does it go against eating for pleasure alone? I mean we do a bunch of things not for the "purpose" alone.

We are watching Dumbo by Disney (1941) tonight. Tomorrow we may watch Aristocats by Disney. We are into jazzy themes with Henri Matisse having had the famous Dominican Order commission for The Rosary Chapel in France. Matisse drew well.

I always get a chuckle when I see Christians who don't approve of cannabis and they are busy enjoying a nice fat cigar. ;) God bless 😂

It might be a good idea to bring Ben onto your show to debate this issue.

Just a thought, but "seed" (sometimes translated offspring or descendants, but the term most literally means seed) is a theme throughout Genesis (and scripture as a whole) that traces from God promising Eve that her "seed" would crush the serpent's head (Genesis 3:15) to Abraham's "seed" blessing the nations (Genesis 12:1-7), to David's "seed" reigning on the throne forever (2 Samuel 7:12), to Paul finally identifying Christ as the "Abraham's seed" (Galatians 3:16). There are a bunch more references to it, I just hit the high points. So perhaps when Onan was killed for spilling the "seed, " he was being punished for refusing to carry on the Messianic line. He didn't just have the responsibility to give his brother a child, he had the responsibility to keep the promise given to Eve and Abraham alive. By rejecting that responsibility, the fate of the world was quite literally at stake. The line only ended up being preserved by Tamar's sinful seduction and Judah's foolish failure to resist (worked out through God's sovereignty of course).
