What I hear is you have to plug the drive in a PC to do a firmware update to get the max speed. When I upgraded my drive a while ago to the 980 Pro Samsung it wasn’t getting the full speed. I was getting the same as you a bit over 5500 MB/s. I haven’t bothered uninstalling it and connecting to my PC for a firmware update and all that. It’s been performing fine for months
