On 9/11, Lisa Luckett’s three children were 7, 4, and 4 months old. Her husband, Teddy, worked for Cantor Fitzgerald. He had survived the first World Trade Center Bombing in 1993. It took him 4 and a half hours to make his way down more than 100 flights of stairs, and Lisa remembers him coming home, covered in soot. Now, 8 years later, she was rooting for rescuers to get them down to safety, in her heart, she knew Teddy was gone. His office was just below the fire. A fire department investigator told her months later that Teddy was asphyxiated very quickly in the 1-thousand degree heat. Like 40% of the close to 3,000 who died at The World Trade Center that day, Teddy’s remains were never found. His employer, Cantor Fitzgerald lost 658 that day, far more than any other company.
Lisa says oddly, she was prepared for Teddy’s death, partly because he survived one terror attack but also because her mother-in-law was obsessed with Teddy’s health. He was overweight and his mom always worried out loud that he’d die of a heart attack, prompting Lisa to stay awake at night, crying, fearing her husband’s death.

Like so many say...why can't we all just get along and be nice to each other. A great story and an amazing lady.

I will absolutely be buying this book! Thank you for your insights and awareness, Lisa! As Leonard Cohen so beautifully wrote, "there's a crack in everything; that's how the light gets in."

Lisa taught me to change my perceptions. She is brilliant and resilient. My boyfriend believes in quantum physics and would find this fascinating. God bless you Lisa.

Even if people weren't directly connected to the 9/11 attacks, many will identify with her family dynamics, her personal journey and message. I will look for her book, thanks.

I’m in awe. If I can be even 1% as courageous and profound as this lady, I’ll be happy. Incredible interview 🥰

My goodness, listening to you speak so eloquently about your awakening in the wake of unspeakable tragic is quite frankly incredible and so very inspiring. I am on the verge of tears listening to you explain how the cycle of receiving is so vital to our humanity. And how not allowing people to help Us is literally blocking them for feeding our souls. That is one of the most poignant statements I have ever heard. I can listening to you for whole days. You are exactly what this world needs. God has blessed you Mrs. Lisa Luckett.:)))❤👏🏽👍🏽

Wow. What a gift to hear. The only people in 2021 I hear talking about a spiritual solution to life are my fellows in AA. I only found a spiritual path due to problem drinking, having exhausted all other avenues. Very rare to hear nowadays from a non-AA and non-religious person. I’m getting the book - her experience is so rare. A life based on service, giving, kindness and humility, where I am no longer my own primary purpose, is the only way i have found to live happily and usefully. 11 years and counting now. Only took me to 39 years old to discover that, like Lisa said, kindness is the answer. Thank you Lisa for sharing this very important insight and singularly moving story. Bless you.

You are indeed an Alpha. Stay blessed and thank you for your words. My take away to bring to my home is to make sure my wife and I “let it go” and going to sleep knowing everything is right.
