I remember seeing 9999 and 9969 together maybe last year on the CSX Observation Train. It sat at a siding for weeks! It was only 1 car ( Observation car ). 9969 was the lead, Both units faced foward.

Good ol 9999 and I can see the locomotives’ suspension got a workout 😂. I’ve seen it lead a Geo train solo, on my channel so where lol

It's plain to see why we got rid of jointed rail. Even though it don't have the sound of the wheels hitting the joints making that legendary sound, it superior. It's crazy how much weight rails can support. Each one of them locomotives weighs over 200 tons alone. The F40 is well over 140 tons.
