I used to live in Virginia like 20 minutes away from the marine corps museum. In the Cold War exhibit, there is a marine in snow and stuff, and there are tootsie roll wrappers on the snow. It’s like a little Easter egg for you to find.

This is 100% true! Most of the soldiers died, but the few that survived were called “The Chosin Few”. My great uncle Kenny was one of the chosin few, and every year tootsie roll would send them a huge gift basket of candy to honor him. Unfortunately, he passed away a few years back from the frostbite he got in that same battle crawling all the way up to his heart after all those years.
