Wow that was weird. I opened up this video to watch the trailer for Seventh Son, and the ad that played before it was a trailer for Seventh Son. I didn't even realize I wasn't watching the right video until the ad ended and the trailer started again.

Looks really cool. The effects look very dynamic and Jeff Bridges can pull off pretty much any role out there so this should be good!

As someone who doesn't know the original characters, I enjoyed this movie. I thought it was going to be very bad but it was actually really good. I wanted to watch it for Julianne Moore
as the Evil Queen and I wasn't disappointed. She had more scenes than I expected and they were all great.

A young white dude is off to fight the great dark evil forces cause he's the CHOSEN one, some old man preferably with a raspy voice and maybe a beard is his guide/mentor /teacher/father he never had and says things like "I shall TEACH you" and then he falls in love, maybe with a girl he SHOULDNT fall in love with. Kinda feel like ive seen this before

Everyone is mad at the plot and cgi, and I'm just sitting here annoyed that the old man isn't using his left hand to hold stuff

Great, so this movie is nothing like the book. 
The biggest changes:
1) 
Alice suddenly believes in good and evil. 
2) 
Mother Malkin is not absolutely disgusting. 
3)
Mr Gregory is suddenly a drunk? Even though he only ever drinks alcohol once in the entire book series. 
4) Mr Gregory is suddenly okay with killing something.
5) Mr Gregory is suddenly arrogant. 
6) Tom is somehow not a coward. 
7) Alice and Tom don't really have a romance until at least book 5. 
8) Where the fuck is Lizzie and Abhuman? 
9) Where is Mam, Where is Dad? 
10) Completely changed how Tom came into the spooks service... 
11) Completely and utterly ignored the intricate lore the books put in place. Including characters personality.
