Why did he list lightweight story as a con? This is an arcade top-down puzzle game, not a narrative-focuses one. Having some incredible story for a game like this would feel awkward. It's just a regular game not meant to have a real plot at all.

And it isn't linked to the new Tomb Raider either, so the complaint is even more stupid.

I hate how these hipster reviewers like to tell us that old Lara got no personality. Why? Because she was really pretty. In the Crystal Dynamics trilogy she showed a lot more personality than the reboot, in which she is just thrown unrealistic at walls like a ragdoll and cries all the time. The reboot is good, don't take me wrong, but it never got the intensity of Lara yelling at Amanda and shooting right next to her face: "WHERE! IS! MY! MOTHER!"

No offense but... she's not the same Lara as from the reboot. This is in another universe where Lara kicks ass, takes names, fights giant monsters, has secret passageways in her big ass mansion, has big breasts, & comes home like it was a normal day. She doesn't need emotion. Her enemies do that for her.

Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't this at the point where she's used to raiding Tombs? Even if she was still fairly new, I'd think that she'd toughen up by the end of the Tomb Raider reboot.
Edit: Netptune told me it's not connected. Then why did the reviewer feel the need to compare the two in terms of personality? Oh yeah, it's IGN.

Get a good look at how SJW "game journalists" review games, people.

1) This has nothing to do with the Tomb Raider reboot and is a follow up to "Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light" (different series).

2) The game is a top-down dungeon-crawler with elements more closely linked to Gauntlet and, to a lesser degree, Diablo - not a narrative-intensive set-piece hopping adventure like Uncharted (a different genre altogether).

3) Both games are in the "third person."

All this touchy-feely "we need dimensional female protagonists that make me cry my beta-male tears" needs to stop. These are videogames - they're intended to be fun, not emotional dissections of gyno-centric idolatry.

Listing the lack of a substantial narrative as a negative illustrates how the reviewer missed the point of the game. Imagine this kind of SJW garbage in gaming back in the 1980s? "I didn't feel any emotional draw to PAC-MAN and his quest to self-medicate his pain away with the pills he continually consumes. Minus a point for that."

Guys, do not spend money on this buy the guardians of light as it is a really fun game to play, but this sequel is worth on a PC as a single player it is nearly impossible to enjoy the i am really sorry to say this cause the guardians of light gave me muuuuch fun while i was playing in case any of the developers will see this comment here is my message for you / "please do not stop making games like Lara croft guardians of the light, just forget the direction you choose to make the temple of osiris"

It looks and plays fantastic on Xbox one, Xbox one definitely has much more vibrant colors and extremely silky smooth, the best version of the game is definitely on Xbox one!

Seems like you never played a real Tomb Raider game because the real Lara isn't dumb and vulnerable, she's a fearless badass, I really hope you're not expecting her to be dumb, stupid and a coward in Rise Of The Tomb Raider because you'll be disappointed!
