Today we are going to revisit MKM with a Murders at Karlov Manor Collector box opening.

If you haven't been keeping an eye on them, the land cycle from Murders at Karlov Manor are doing serious work. The question is, can the land cycle carry the entire box? Today we're going to put it to the test.

I enjoyed opening this set and got great cards from it including multiple surveil lands.

Had the same thought recently! Just opened a box myself and also got the same spread of lands between borderless and base, foil and non-foil. Might be about the average. Thinking about a play box..

I actually liked the set from the ascetic stand point. It was also a ton of fun in limited.

the surveil lands are so good, decided to pick up a random collector pack and was happy to get the g/b land (with a bonus crashing footfalls, that may not be $ but is pretty cool).

I've actually been getting more into this set. I like the art don't care much about the value.

I think I've figured out what I've always found so odd about this set - it's a gimmick set, which fell in with a load of other gimmick sets that came out in a similar time window, when you consider the Fallout, Doctor Who, Assassin's Creed, Markov Manor and Outlaws. To me, these sets all missed the fundamental "feel" of magic. I think in a couple of years, I'll be able to look back at Manor and Outlaws (and I'm pre-guessing all this will apply to Duskmourn as well) and enjoy them more.

Still, at least there's Bloomburrow!

This is my question. The set is not very well put together, but those lands might be worth it. The question is: what is the average pull rate of a surveil land? Base copy only. Playable is what matters. For the pull rate, add all the rares together and multiply that number by 0.2 since 20% of the rares are worth more than the cost of a Play booster. Way above average. Prices will correct, but right now, let's play the booster box game!! (not financial advice)

Did I hear a wookie? Not a high value set, but there are some great cards in there. I have 2 commanders from this set that are insanely fun

Are you selling these or just keeping these in your collection? I've noticed from my personal openings and from what I've seen in this video, that much of the foil cards at any rarity are all coming out of the packs with a frayed/jagged white border. Are you just having to list these as LP or worse straight out of the gate? Seems like a huge loss of value seeing as though they're pack fresh.

$150 is cheap. Arbitrage value is there I believe

you got a busted box and if you open more it will average out. I've opened boxes with three borderless foil of the land cycle and 8 total lands and the average is somewhere in the middle. As far as I can tell, this is the only box, this and the play booster that has an almost guaranteed positive EV right now. You can get collectors for about 135 shipped and play for 85 shipped. There's an even higher percentage of ROI on the average play booster rn than the collector with the surveil lands.
