Batman First Season Goofs

In this video, I take a look at behind the scenes visual, plot, prop, and stuntman goofs from the 1966 Batman TV series starring Adam West and Burt Ward.

Episodes we will be looking at from the 1960's Batman TV series are Hi Diddle Riddle, Smack in the Middle, Not Yet He Ain't, Instant Freeze, The Joker Goes to School, The Pharoah's in a Rut, The Ring of Wax, Give Em the Axe, and The Bookworm Turns.

Goofs and various behind the scenes mistakes we will be looking at include the Batmobile, stuffed props, obvious stuntmen sightings, explosion goofs, and even sponges used as Batman's utility belt compartments.

Also, I look at a shared explosion between Batman and the television series of the sixties, Get Smart, and did the Batmobile really ever leave the Batcave. I also look at mustaches like the one the Joker actor Cesar Romero wore that was painted over with makeup and one that gave away a Batman stuntman. Also, how re-using stock footage sometimes caused goofs in the storyline of the show, and how actor Frank Gorshen Riddler traps turned into goofs a couple of times.

Even as a kid watching Batman I thought the stories and characters were ridiculous but to me, the star of the show was the batmobile that was really all I cared about.

I never caught the goofs as a kid being carried away in the drama! Thank you for calling these what they are...goofs and not bloopers which are actors messing up dialog that does not end up in the final product.

You missed the two in DEATH IN SLOW MOTION. When Bruce and Dick run for the Batpoles, they collide, stop and Bruce says, "Excuse me."
Later at Mother Gotham's Bakery, Batman reaches for a broken pie crust and picks up a piece of paper instead. Adam West later contributed this mistake to the fact that his cowl interfered with his peripheral vision.

I love how Batsy's gadgets have conspicuous labels written on them like the one on his belt at 2:27 and 2:34. This aside from his machines in the Batcave.😄😁😅🤣

In the episode with Batman and the tiger, as Batman is hanging on the wall, the tiger swipes at him with his claws. Look at the bottom of the screen and you can see the crewperson's hand holding the fake tiger leg.

The Catwoman episode with the tiger always was funny to me.Batman puts the earplugs on the outside of his cowl instead of actually putting them in his ear canals.

When these episodes aired on their original air date in the 1960's, most televisions had small screens (like 16") and high def wasn't a thing yet. So, with today's TV quality, I always notice background shadows and "goofs" when watching old shows like old game shows (love Match Game, 1975) and how often they went to commercial breaks. We can still watch Batman on MeTV every Saturday night and love the camp. The villains made the show!!!

Either way when Batman gets the Tiger instead of Catwoman, I'm shocked that there wasn't a single can of Tiger Repellent Bat Spray anywhere in the ol Utility Belt!!

Did you notice that in almost every episode the Robinson Force Field Projector from Lost in Space is propped on the Batcave wall just right of the Bat

Always enjoy anything to do with my childhood shows even if they are bloopers. Enjoy the that much more.

By the way in the monkees did you ever notice that the only one who really played their actual instrument was Michael Nesmith or Davy jones with the tambourine. A lot of scenes show Peter playing the keyboard but his hands are off the keys when you hear the keyboard playing.
