Excellent! Will get it on top on my theC64. My wife will get angry but watching it on the shelf will make me happy. Wife vs theVIC20? Victory for the little machine!

this too was my first computer. i only ever had it hooked up to my old black & white portable, so it'll be nice to finally play the games in colour.

Bought one on the day of release in '81 here in the UK. Bloody thing broke down within a few weeks - RF modulator; was a very common fault. Replacement unit lasted me until the C64 came out, then had to be sold in order to purchase that newer machine. If I ever held the fantastic Vic 20 manuals again in my old hands I'm sure I'd weep. :)

Still, I can't complain. I bought the Commodore machines in order to learn programming, and that knowledge and 35 years of hard work in I.T. has left me very comfortable in retirement. Thank you Jack T. and all the guys at Commodore, you brought cheap computing to the masses and changed our lives - and saved my poor hands from RSI by skipping the hideous Sinclair keyboards! :)

I agree with Matt K below. I would definitely buy one of these...but only after I can get a C64 Maxi. Does anyone know how to get one in North America or when or if? Mr. Bread Box, sir, those of us on the (apparently) wrong side of the Atlantic could really use some help. Can you advise if possible? Thanks.

Before moving on to Amiga (that I guess will be their next product), is there any chance they will produce a "The C16"?
That was my first computer and had a more advanced BASIC than C64...a pity it did not have much memory to play with...

I loved my vic 20. Fire galaxy, donkey Kong, radar rat race, the perils of willy. Great days

A good look at The Vic-20 and some of the games that come with it. The Commodore Vic-20 (back in 1982) was the first computer I owned, and I still have fond memories of it. Maybe some day I will get this new 'The Vic 20' system. In the meantime, I can still do some Vic-20 retro-gaming on my PC with the use of VICE emulator software (and I even made a new-retro Vic-20 game several months ago). Cheers!

Hmmm are those defo the games that its gonna have? i would have thought they would have had Hunchback, Amok, Cosmiads ....maybe even Donkey Kong cos the Vic20 version was very good...do you think they will expand on those games?

So it seems same the The64 except it has vic games on the carousel instead of 64 games and the colour scheme?

Would have been nice if the large speech bubbles of blurb did not cover the game footage

I like the way you used it as a word processor!

Does this version come with the US adapter for the power plug that the C64 Maxi did?

Wish they would make "THE PET 4032" with cool retro PET games... Even with a green monochrome monitor standalone device... I'd pay 300 - 400 for that! That sure shows my age lol

The first computer I ever touched was a Vic 20. It belonged to a man I worked with and he had it set up at work so I messed around with it and we took turns typing in games we found in books (this was in the early '80's). I went on to order a Timex Sinclair 1000 and then a c64. I get this fond feeling when I see a Vic 20 though. Thanks for the video.
