A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) has both a combustion engine and an electric motor. Each one is capable of powering the vehicle on its own. You can use the electric motor for daily commutes, but also take advantage of the great range and flexibility of a petrol engine when you go on longer trips.

The exterior of the new BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid is identical to the combustion engine models; the only distinction is the charging connection on the driver side front fender and the model badge on the trunk lid. The high-voltage battery has been positioned in a space saving way right under the rear seat and can be charged almost everywhere. Even with conventional household socket by using the standard charging cable or through energy recuperation.

Is it really true the sedan is 410l boot and touring 430l boot? I get the boot is snaller due to battery pack, but still the touring looks a lot bigger then just 20l difference when compared with the sedan right?
