Hi Mikael, I am a current member of the Paris en Selle association. I am so happy to see that what is shown in this documentary is now outdated as Paris is really starting to have a proper bike network !

It is definitely not perfect, but bicycle use keeps going up with crazy numbers : indeed, the last studies that came out from the Institut Paris Région are showing that bicycles are now used in 12% of all trips made in Paris, which is 3x more than cars!!

You can count on us (Paris en Selle) to keep pushing for Paris to become a world leading city regarding mobilities and urban planning !

Hope you'll come back soon to make an update about the cycling revolution in Paris ! I'd be very happy to show you around the new infrastructure in danish ! 🇩🇰

Hilsen fra en fransk / dansk pariser ! 🇨🇵 🇩🇰

Hi, great video, but please indicate somewhere (in the description at least?) that it was shot almost a decade ago, the city has changed a lot since then

it's amazing seeing how many hidden gems you conistently find in cities across the world—loved this episode, as usual!

Mikael and team, you really need to flag the fact that this video is from 2017. Paris doesn't look like this anymore. I think you're doing both the city and your channel a disservice.

I really wonder when you're gonna talk about Bogotá in Colombia. the bycicle infrastructure in the city is the biggest one in Latin America and has increased along the past 4 years. also the cuty is building its integrated transport system after 70 years of plans for the 1st metro line. Hope you can some day come. Nice vid!

Bonjour! Urban designer Mikael continues to amaze us with his videos. We are retired educators back in Portland, Oregon after a long stay in Europe: 5 months helping a new school open in Lvivv, six weeks in Krakow learning about WWII, and one month in Tallinn. Each city had its unique approach to supporting human interaction and to maintane traffic. America has much to learn from Europe. PDX is implementing several bike and pedestrian friendly walkways and bridges. Long Beach, California is changing, too. We plan to move to France with the Long Stay Visa. Toulon looks perfect for us; beaches, walkways, calm traffic, and access to trains. And we love the healthcare! Merci! Dean & Cindy

How old is this video ? velib bikes haven't look like that in (at least) 4 years. Also, many things have been going on in Paris on bike infrastructure since covid

C'est merveilleux que la Ville et les citoyens aient tenu bon et fini par appliquer le plan vélo, la Lutte a été rude, elle continue pour rendre la vie respirable

Mikael, will you please come to Los Angeles and fix all of our problems? ;)

Bidirectional cycle lanes are so much better. Why? Because they are twice as wide and the give more distance to the traffic coming from behind that I can't see when on the lane.

Srange Klapish claims Paris is 10 km east west and then talks about 4 milion Parisians lol This is because Greater Paris is 50 km east west ! Let's say the administrative Paris is the city center / core which makes it one of the largest city centre in the world.

Certainly, this is an interesting series, but unless one is a so-called "progressive", the relentless left wing bias becomes a little tiresome.😅
