Here's the second of a three part series of clips of when I visited Coulson Flying Tankers and the Martin Mars flying boats in Sproat Lake, Vancouver Island. In Part 2 here we will tour the Hawaii Mars, place it in the water and do an overview of some of our test flights. Stick around after the Fantasy end tag for a Kermit out-take.

In Part 3, my flight training ride with complete cockpit audio. Stay tuned.

Those aircraft are a national treasure--for both the USA and for Canada. Incredible examples of engineering success. Truly magnificent machines. Mad respect for Dev (sp?), Peter and all the FEs that operate them so professionally. It's a sad thing that they're no longer needed. If it was up to me we'd still be building new ones, lol...

What a flying machine ! mankind is capable of producing a gigant such as this and a thing of great beauty too, the wonderful condition of this aircraft and the way it is looked after is evident in this video, this is not just about any aircraft but one that requires a dedicated and specialised team to get them airborne, to marvel at the Martin Mars and see it flying is surely one of the wonders of the aviation world at least, thank you Kermit for providing us with this over the shoulder seat to see what is involved in the operation of the Mars flying boat, simply stunning and look forward now to Part 3.

The Mars aircraft are amazing. To think that they still provide a service today that no other aircraft can is a testament to the design capability of our WWII engineers, even though they were never produced in numbers and could live up to their original requirements! Thanks for taking us through this one Kermit!

This thing is outrageous. Very very cool stuff Kermit. I'm a Navy guy and Carl W. was right. What a great restoration.

Great video. A little bit of the past in each one of them. Right on Kermit.

Walking around in it on the ground, it seems so massive. And then seeing it fly is sort of unreal. And to think that this thing weighs more than twice as much as a Bombardier modern Q400, but has around the same power makes it even more impressive that it can actually get in the air. Thanks a lot for these videos.

Wow that would be a huge undertaking, but Kermit you would be the person who would be able to take care of it properly. Thanks again for the video series.

Very nice video. Specially the voice over in the background and very informative. Mr Kermit your voice can become the voice of aviation just like David Attenborough for wildlife. Thanks
