One does not simply separate a person from their phone. This must be a personal decision, done daily so that we may grow in awareness of this most potent element.

My school provides students with their own chrome books. It's great for carrying out digital projects and multimedia lessons, but the majority of the students use the computers as a gaming device or to message their friends. I wonder how this research might carry over to that aspect of student learning: Can students learn using a laptop when the temptation of the internet and all its glory is constantly hanging over them.=?

Okay, I understand the message. On the other hand, as somebody who has grown up with cell phones nearby, I disagree with some points. It’s different for every student. Phones are not easily accessible to all students, but are deemed necessary for safety reasons. Those students will be worried about having something happen to their phone and not perform well anyway.

AS FOR THE SAFETY:
In a world where school violence has become so prevalent, it is important for students to have phones as they may be the first ones to know about a potential threat or the first ones to see the threat. This will get police to the school much faster than waiting for something to happen.
