I am a gemstone collector and she’s talking about the blue garnet. I have several small pieces of of the loose stones and I also have two pairs of 14 karat gold blue garnet earrings. I bought those several years ago when right after they started bringing it out of the ground and I still have them. I have collected gemstones since 2001 so it’s been way over 20 years and I have got quite a collection.

That newer blue/green garnet color change reminds me of the blue/green color change fluorite from the Lady Annabella mine

I LOVE Garnet. It is one of my favorite stones. I am a Canadian, and I was so interested to learn that Hessonite Garnet can be found here. I am a new collector but some of my favorite and most prized gems I have collected are my 30 carat Hessonite, my two Russian Demantoids ( one has the horsetail inclusion) and my two tsavorites. I agree that the color and sparkle of the tsavorite rivals emeralds. I have always preferred the color of the garnet to that of ruby. I have two rubies in my collection now but it is hard to get good quality in my price range so I prefer my garnets. I am also falling for spinel and tourmaline too. Such a beautiful wide range of color.
I enjoy watching you two ladies. Your videos have been educational and very helpful. Please keep up the good work.

I’ve just acquired a gemstone collection and believe to have at least 10ct of the purple blue to blue green garnets in around .10-1.3ct sizes as well as a lot of the raspberry color changing and all other color changing garnets who do you suggest contact as I’ve also got a lot of Russian alexandrite etc the stone setting had direct connection with the mines and got pieces that I can’t find anywhere else.

Can you do a video on just blue color change garnets? I feel like not a lot of people including local jewelers know anything about it

Hello dear how are you? I like how you people elaborated garnet and their types. I come across some gem Stone recently which I suspected to be a garnet, dark brown in colour and over 70 carat. I need some encouragement, because I am one of those people that like gem stones and looks for them anywhere I go.

The word is roiled effect for hessonite. Hessonites may display a visual effect that resembles roiled or disturbed water within the stone.

Personally, as much as I love garnets,
it's too hard to pick just one favourite.

I'm torn between red spessartite garnets, and, pale pastel-coloured pyrope garnets.

I've been looking for truely colourless pyrope garnets to add to my collection for years now, but, as yet, I unfortunately haven't been able to find any.

Is there any difference between spessartite and spessartine as some people use the name spessartine?

Hi Dominique great video. Ive just come across your channel. Can you clarify the Blue vanadium coloured Garent was she saying is worth 900-2k usd per carat? There was one that went 1.5m USD per carat in 2003. Did she mean the Blue Garent which turns to brown is worth up to 2k.

There is a 16.71 carat Blue Garnet coloured with vanadium changes to Green blue im aware of, certified with IGI. Would it possible to arrange a zoom with your FGA gemologist to show you both??

I have an oval Tsavorite over 4 carats and graded VS quality in the bright darker green (not too dark, as I know thats a penalty)....so approx what is this stone worth per carat?

Thanks for the education. Nice job. Was cleaning up surface scratches and indents on a couple of rough Spessartites tonight. Then I got curious and weighed them afterwards. They both came out about 36 Carats each after cleanup from 45 and 45.5 Carats each.

My question is; Would you recommend trying to get a couple of 10 Carat Gems out of them, or getting them cut into single stones each? What will bring the best Value?

They each will make great Fancy Cuts such as the Cleopatra eye. But do you think standard cuts such as Round Brilliant or Oval Cushion will make them more marketable?

Or should I just send them to you to take it up from where I am now? Lol. Excitingly awaiting your response. Thanks in advance.
