My favorite shoes — I own maybe 20 pairs of Clarks Originals because they’re so comfortable. I love the variety of colors and materials.

Crepe rubber shoes are great. It's a natural rubber, it's more grippy and it lasts just about a long as the harder ppe or pvc soles. The "dirt" is just staining that you don't see on synthetics (it's there in the same amount, just not visible). Clarks are generally a better built shoe than most.

I have one pair that is literally 20 years old. Just use them for yardwork now. I could probably still get them to clean up with some work.

Also keep a nice pair, about 5 years old but look brand new. Probably had at least 5 pairs of these throughout my life. They last. I've never had problems in the rain either.

They look great. I have the desert boot (same brand and sole material) and 12 years later i still wear but only for yard work.

These were all the rage in the 70's, one thing I found back then was the sole would simply break in half, no warning, they would simply break and your foot would pop out. Very embarrassing on a date.

I would actually relativise the issue with the wide feet. While it's true that the sole is narrower than the upper part, it is also true that the toe box is rather square, rather wide. I also had to size down half a size, and to me it seemed that that was partly because of the toe box being so roomy that it comfortably fit my toes so that I did not need to size up for that purpose. In sum, the sole is a bit narrow, but there is plenty of room for the toes, making this an extremely comfortable shoe in my opinion.

I dont have this exact pair of Clark's but I have several pairs of Clark's and I like them a lot. they're easy to care for and all of them have a nice looking crisp profile. and they seem to be made sturdy and durable. looks like your pair is too narrow for your feet and as for crepe soles they are light colored so yeah they do show dirt but it's on the bottom so no big deal.

sole is too soft. i use mine while driving and the heel side of the right sole is already deformed.

Dude, wax your wallabies. That'll help make them last. A half decent beeswax will also make them waterproof. 👍
